In many countries, their GDP depends only on tourism. As the tourism industry is growing enormously around the world, Bangladesh is also looking into this field so that Bangladesh can familiarize its tourism industry throughout the world. Tourism and hospitality are also becoming more popular as a procession. In recent years, Bangladesh has included Tourism and Hospitality Management subjects for university students to create professionals in this particular field. In Bangladesh, the journey of studying Tourism and Hospitality Management started at the University Of Dhaka.
Now there are the country’s 7 public universities teaching this subject (Dhaka University, Rajshahi University, Noakhali Science and Technology University, Rangamati Science and Technology University, Islamic University, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Pabna Science and Technology University). Besides, this subject is being run in most of the private universities. The opportunity to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the mentioned public and private universities is available. Besides undergraduate and postgraduate programs MPhil and PhD degrees are also available in this subject at the University Of Dhaka and University of Rajshahi.
