Detective Police (DB) raided the residence of Supreme Court Lawyers Association independent secretary candidate Nahid Sultana Yuthi in Gulshan. The operation was carried out on Friday (March 8) night. 4 people have been arrested. At that time, Nahid Sultana Yuthi was not found at home.

Earlier on Friday (March 8) Assistant Attorney General. Saifur Rahman Siddiqui (Saif) sued 30-40 people as plaintiff. A case of attempted murder was filed in Shahbagh police station, accusing 20 lawyers including independent editor candidate Nahid Sultana Yuthi and BNP-backed editor candidate Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal. Another 30-40 people have been named as unnamed accused in the case.

In the statement of the case, the plaintiff mentioned that 20 lawyers including Advocate Nahid Sultana Juthi (Editorial candidate), Lawyer Ruhul Quddus Kajal and also 30-40 unknown people opened the auditorium door in a clever and conspiratorial manner in the Shaheed Shafiur Rahman Auditorium on the ground floor of the Supreme Court Bar Building. He forcibly entered without permission with arms and abused me and other members of the Election Sub-Committee in unspeakable language.

The statement also mentions various injuries including attempted murder. The police arrested a lawyer named Barrister Osman Chowdhury, accused number 6 in the case.

It should be noted that the first day of voting started from 10 am last Wednesday and ended at 5 pm on Thursday. Although the polls were held peacefully for two days, the votes were not counted till the time of writing due to clashes between the supporters of rival candidates.
